Rodent Control in Adelaide
After a busy July the first week of August show no signs of Rodents slowing down in the Adelaide metro area and the surrounding hills. Rodent control is still high on our work load.
Our clients are often concerned and terrified at the sight or sounds of rodents. Often they think they are the only one in the street to have these unwelcome guests.
We explain that rodents are widespread and changes in weather conditions can force rodents indoors looking for shelter from the adverse weather conditions.
How Amalgamated Pest Control can help with rodent control
Our job at Amalgamated Pest Control is to eradicate rodents in a safe and efficient way, taking in to consideration our clients the environment and reputation.
The main question we get asked is: How long until they’re gone?
The answer is: Rodents that have ingested a lethal dose of single feed anticoagulant bait will die in 4 to 6 days.
The second most asked question: Is it safe?
The answer is: Yes.
Amalgamated Pest Control’s rodent control methods are safe.
If we do use rodenticide baits, they are always secured in lockable bait stations. These stations are removed once treatment is complete.
How do rodents get in?
If you are wondering how a mouse or a rat could have possibly gotten into your home, remember that they can fit into incredibly small spaces.
They can fit through just about any hole that its skull can fit through.
This is why it helps to seal any gaps around your house and install door sweeps on your exterior doors. It’s very important to work out how they got into your property or how they can get in.
A professional pest controller can identify these areas and provide the correct recommendations for proofing and/or repairs.
Indications for rodent activity
Some signs of rodent activity to check for are:
- sightings of live and dead rodents
- evidence of gnawing
- burrows outside
- runway tracks
- grease marks or rub marks caused by the rats dragging their greasy bodies over surfaces
- urine stains
- smells and sounds such as scratching noises.
In the photos below, not only will you notice droppings but you can also see on the electrical wires rub marks and urine stains.
The roof is a great warm, safe place for rats to live.
A warning about rodent control
You should never attempt to use toxic baits to manage rodents yourself.
Rodent control is best left to the professionals.
